WHAT WE BELIEVE

Thanks for caring about what we believe at Kingwood Church.  As a part of the Assemblies of God fellowship (www.ag.org), we are committed to a set of fundamental biblical truths which may be viewed here.

Perhaps a better context for you to understand what we believe is to see those beliefs filtered through a set of core values.  These values are the non-negotiable life principles to which we are committed both individually and as a church family.  Expression of these core values is interwoven into everything about our ministry strategy and philosophy.  These core values are who we are.

Vital Mission

What am I really here for?

Corinthians 9:14-27

We are convinced that Jesus Christ is the only hope of mankind. Jesus’ last command was to share this “good news” with every person. Our highest purpose is to passionately and deliberately communicate the life-giving message of Jesus Christ, without prejudice or delay. We must lovingly and truthfully represent Him in our community, our nation, and our world. (John 14:6; Matthew 28:19-20; I Corinthians 9:22)

Authentic Relationships

Who does God want me to love?

John 17

We believe that God created human beings because he was so in love with community that he wanted a world full of people to share it with. To experience authentic relationships is to know the joy of belonging, the delight at being known and loved, the opportunity for giving and growing and the safety of being accepted without condition.

Lifelong Growth

What does God want me to become?

1 & 2 Timothy

God invites each of us to join Him in a dynamic and deepening relationship. This journey neither begins nor ends at the moment of salvation. It is our deliberate strategy to create pathways of growth through Biblical teaching, Christian accountability, and spiritual disciplines, moving people from “where they are” to “where they need to be.”

Unselfish Stewardship

To whom does my life really belong?

Matthew 10:7-8

God trusts each follower of Jesus with unique spiritual gifts and material resources. Everything we have or will ever enjoy belongs to God, and we are released to be a steward over these possessions. Our hopes, dreams, passions, gifts, abilities, resources, and time are all included in the storehouse over which we are given charge. He asks us to willingly and joyfully offer it all to Him, not holding back, but trusting Him to meet our needs. Together, as we release our gifts and resources, God strengthens His body and extends His Kingdom to the world.

Equipped Servants

What should the church do for me?

Colossians 1:3-14

We believe that Kingwood Church is called to equip servant- leaders. All believers are called to be servants, and the most successful servants are those that are equipped with the tools and training to best accentuate their giftings and callings.

Supernatural Connection

How can we approach God?

Luke 10:17-20

We know that the Holy Spirit has chosen to live inside the Church collectively, and inside the heart of every believer individually. His very presence provides us with a supernatural connection with the Creator of the universe. Therefore, we will always welcome the Holy Spirit to speak to us; to speak through us; and to make His Presence known among us. Our music, our worship, our prayer, and our ministry will express the joy and enthusiasm we feel because of our supernatural connection with God.
