On June 2-9, 2012, Kingwood will take a multi-generational team into an Arab Muslim culture for a week of work and ministry, without ever leaving U.S. soil. Dearborn, Michigan (outside Detroit) is home to over 40,000 Arab Muslims in a 12-square mile area. God has provided a strategically-positioned facility and ministry plan to a group of missionaries with whom we will partner. Among our opportunities will be reaching out through acts of kindness, pressing in through intercession, and planting deep through construction of a coffeehouse where relationships can be formed between Christians and Muslims. This opportunity is especially unique given the closed nature of most Arab countries to any type of Christian missionary work. God has sent them to us, and is opening their hearts to the presence of Christ that dwells within us. This trip will be a high-impact experience for team members in cross-cultural understanding and ministry.
